Resumen

The main objective of this article is to show the convenience of adopting a pragmatic-linguistic approach for the development of normative models of argumentation. In addition, I will present a proposal, the only one currently, within this approach: the Linguistic Normative Model of Argumentation (Bermejo-Luque, 2011) and I will explain its advantages over alternative models such as Pragma-dialectic – hegemonic within the dialectical approach– or the Canadian Informal Logic –one of the main current exponents of the logical approach.
