Approach to the research of Argumentative Dialogues

Abstract

This paper intends to introduce a specific approach for the study of argumentation. Stemming from several sources, an original concept of argumentative dialogue is introduced. This concept involves ideas such as open dialogue, multi-modal argumentation, and hospitable mind. The concept of argumentative dialogue is developed in order to open spaces of flexibility such that arguers facing disagreement might treat ideas as “guests” and not as personal property.
