In this article, I will make comments on Torretti's interpretation of the passage of the Transcendental Deduction of 1781, where Kant exposes his notion of an object as "something in general = X" . According to Torretti, in this passage Kant presents the central idea of what has been called his “Copernican revolution”. I will divide my analysis into three parts. First, I will briefly recall the doctrine of the threefold synthesis and I will review the emergence of the question about the "object of representations". Second, I will analyze the critical characterization of the concept of an object. Finally, I will focus on the relationship between this concept and the transcendental apperception.
